Jones Family Camp Out

Well its that time of year again. The yearly Jones Family Camp Out. Mmmmm...how I look forward to this time of year. I love being with family & camping (two of my FAVORITE things!)

Its official, my Dad made a new best friend this weekend. I think these two photos are the best. What a funny night.

Unfortunately this is how I felt for both of the nights though. I normally don't freeze when I go camping. My body is just naturally hot (no pun intended) but seriously. I always sleep super warm. Well this year was NOT the case. Then when the Stewart's brought up more blankets, I still froze because my sleeping bag broke...RATS! But luckily I made it thru both of the nights.

Brad had a great opportunity to talk to Grandpa Jones about his brother (Brad's grandpa) and hear stories that practically no one else knows. Once you get grandpa talking, you're in for a fun adventure. His stories are remarkable and I'm proud to have him as my grandpa.

We also hiked Donut Falls and it was such a beautiful hike & just the right length as well. The donut isn't quite there anymore but the waterfall still is and is very beautiful.

And the reunion just wouldn't be complete without an intense game of Nertz.
Mmmmm...what a great tradition. This game gets SO intense though. As you can see, we have a huge group and some of us have to sit on the table so that we can attempt at throwing our cards at the center piles. We played until you just couldn't see the cards anymore & then we switched to.....building a camp fire! What a funny night.
(Shontel I'm sorry we teased you so badly; you know we love you SO much!)
Overall, it was a great reunion as always.
EXCEPT that Beau was missing BUT he'll be home in LESS THAN 30 days!!! :)

Slam Packed Weekend

July 8th
DRAPER RODEO
My friends & I went to the Draper Rodeo. I admit, this rodeo was fun
(mostly because of the people I was with)
BUT other than that, the contestants really struggled.
The mutten-busten is always fun to watch though.

July 9th
RIVERTON DEMOLITION DERBY
My life is now complete. Demolition Derbies are so exhilarating and you never know what is going to happen. I went with the same group of peeps that I went to the
Draper Rodeo with & again, it was such a blast!
(obviously because I didn't take any pictures
from the actual even & thus had to find one on google. don't judge.)

I have LOVED getting to know this group of friends & I'm sure I'll
have plenty more adventures with them in the future :)
Sure gotta love great friends!

4th of July Celebration!

We were all so excited to have some fun with some poppers. I don't know why but every year we always end up throwing the poppers at each others' feet.
The 4th of July wouldn't be complete with out them & without getting a few thrown at you.

And the summer wouldn't be complete without finding a few rolly-poley bugs.
They are one of my favorite bugs by far.

The night ended with watching fireworks on lawn of Jordan High School and I must say that Sandy City has definitely improved their firework show since last year. Then afterwards we went back to our house and lite off some fireworks as well. What a great way to end the day.

Taste of my 2nd Home

My summer job is so wonderful and I serious LOVE it so much, even on the hottest of days. Here's a peek of my summer life...
The watermelon eating contest was awesome! We did this for Liberty Days and the little kids were adorable!
Now Dr. Quakenbush is always around the village with his tonics but if he gets caught by our sheriff then he could be in big trouble. Gotta love Dr. Quakenbush.
Helga has got to be the oddest cow I have EVER seen! She is a Highlander cow and has the cutest little calf named Dexter.
The lambs at the park are SO cute and they will sure let you know when they're hungry.
If you haven't already experienced the joys of This Is The Place Heritage Park this year, its definitely worth your visit!

Day Off= Catch Up Time!

When I got back from California (which I didn't want to end, except for the fact that I think I gained 5 lbs) Skyler graduated from Jordan High School.
Can you believe that?! I can't believe he's that old. crazy!
How did I seem to miss the height gene? I have such great brothers and that in and of itself is such a blessing. We sure missed Beau there but we're SO excited for him to come home in about...A MONTH! yay!

Here are some of Skyler's friends. (don't worry i was the designated paparazzi for skyler).
Now let the new phase of his life begin!
