How Great Shall Be Your Joy

This past Thursday was our Ward Temple night & I had a great reminder of the scripture that says something along the lines of "and if ye should bring save it be one soul unto me...how great shall be your joy."
My friend, Stephanie & I are ASL Interpreters for a guy in our ward. Even though interpreting isn't
always easy, I have been amazed at the changes
that this man has made in his life.
A few months ago he expressed to me how he wasn't interested in going to the temple.
However, this past Thursday evening, after about 6 years, he entered the Lord's house to do the Lord's work.
My friend interpreted the baptismal prayers & confirmation prayers as I went to do some family names for a friend. But I was able to watch this man be baptized for those that have already passed. It was incredible. It left us all in tears because the spirit was so strong. We all bonded that evening.
And it was an amazing reminder about the importance of the temple,
how glorious this Work is and how eternal it really is.
This Church IS true!

Long Live Jansport

22 weeks of Oakcrest
3 years at SLCC
and
2 years at UVU

I do believe this backpack deserves a trophy because it managed to get
through all of that without even a single hole/rip/etc. Miracle.
NOTE: JanSport backpacks are the way to go.
I don't know what I'll do with myself next
Fall when I won't have to wear a backpack for school.
Odd...
But I'm SO excited to be student teaching! I have my name tag & my teacher's bag!

Place of Refuge

I love institute! Let's make that clear. I just love it. With the semester over & just finals left, one of my institute teachers said something that makes ending the semester such a "bittersweet thing" he said that he was sad that the semester was ending because he knew that he would never see some of us again. I think that phrase hit me because I could very well fall under that category.
When the Fall semester starts I'll be doing student teaching (which I'm SO excited about ps) but I'll only be taking one official class at UVU, once a week, so the probability of taking institute at UVU is rather slim. very slim. and that makes me a little sad.
My love for this building and its teachers have grown immensely. It is a place where I could focus on my spiritual growth rather than worrying about homework and my hectic life. It is a place where the teachers listened and loved. It is a place where friends are made and the spirit is felt. I'll always cherish the lessons I've learned here, the spirit that abides in this building, and the friendships that I have made. This place is definitely a tender mercy in my life.
If you haven't taken institute or are currently not enrolled, I HIGHLY encourage it!!! even if you are married. the end.

Quote of the Day

I saw this quote on my friend's blog & thought this fit very nicely for how I feel at times. Now if I can only remember this quote in the times of trials/adversity :)

Elder Richard G. Scott said: “Just when all seems to be going right, challenges often come in multiple doses applied simultaneously. When those trials are not consequences of your disobedience, they are evidence that the Lord feels you are prepared to grow more. He therefore gives you experiences that stimulate growth, understanding, and compassion which polish you for your everlasting benefit. To get you from where you are to where He wants you to be requires a lot of stretching, and that generally entails discomfort and pain. … This life is an experience in profound trust—trust in Jesus Christ.”
