Taste of my 2nd Home

My summer job is so wonderful and I serious LOVE it so much, even on the hottest of days. Here's a peek of my summer life...
The watermelon eating contest was awesome! We did this for Liberty Days and the little kids were adorable!
Now Dr. Quakenbush is always around the village with his tonics but if he gets caught by our sheriff then he could be in big trouble. Gotta love Dr. Quakenbush.
Helga has got to be the oddest cow I have EVER seen! She is a Highlander cow and has the cutest little calf named Dexter.
The lambs at the park are SO cute and they will sure let you know when they're hungry.
If you haven't already experienced the joys of This Is The Place Heritage Park this year, its definitely worth your visit!

Day Off= Catch Up Time!

When I got back from California (which I didn't want to end, except for the fact that I think I gained 5 lbs) Skyler graduated from Jordan High School.
Can you believe that?! I can't believe he's that old. crazy!
How did I seem to miss the height gene? I have such great brothers and that in and of itself is such a blessing. We sure missed Beau there but we're SO excited for him to come home in about...A MONTH! yay!

Here are some of Skyler's friends. (don't worry i was the designated paparazzi for skyler).
Now let the new phase of his life begin!

Day 1:
Drove down to Las Vegas & planned to stay in a friend's co-worker's condo however after arriving there at 3 am, we discovered that our name was not on the guest list so we had to call the co-worker despite the time OR plan on sleeping on the streets. (ya, lucky for us, she finally answered her phone).

Day 2:
We drove to the San Diego area and picked up Marc and then continued our journey to the San Diego temple to do temple work. I love, love, LOVE this temple. GORGEOUS!
Love these people. mmmm...yes I sure do.

Then we continued to drive to our hotel which was north of Anaheim. Great day overall.

Day 3:
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of us here but we all went to the Price is Right. It was quite the adventure to say the least. We got there about 8 am and then stood in line until noon. None of us got selected BUT we knew people that did & that won the show as well. If you want to watch the show that I was on, it airs on July 4th. (I know, great day to pick...which we really didn't know that it was going to air that day).
After going to the Price is Right & grabbing a bite to eat, we headed to the beach for the evening. The water was cold, like it pretty much always is, but it was fun & the bathrooms at the beach are DISGUSTING!!! I tried my hardest to not let my clothes touch the ground which is near to impossible but I did succeed!

The sunset was SO gorgeous and it was so relaxing to be there.
Awww...bonding during the bonfire. love it.

Day 4:

We went to 6 flags and again, I don't have pictures of us here because it was too much of a hassle to carry things around with us.
It was such a blast though & believe it or not, the lines weren't that long!
I was such a fan!
We went on roller coasters for about a 4 good solid hours and then you could tell that we were all getting pretty light-headed and dizzy. haha.

Here are the roller coasters that we road:
AND
for fun I've attached links to them so you can watch the ride on youtube,
just simply click the title of the ride

We went on a few more but these are the main ones that we rode. They were all so fun but some were more liked then others. haha.
Then after going to 6 flags we stopped by Hollywood to check on the Chinese Theatre where all the hand/foot prints of the actors/actresses are located. This was a lot of fun but Hollywood in general wasn't that great. (no offense to those that love it). Anyways, here's some photos from that short adventure...

Day 5:

This was our relaxing day. We slept in and took our time getting ready. then we headed to the beach. We went to the Huntington Beach and it was so gorgeous.

Ok so we were able to get this sweet buzz lightyear kite up and flying but then we got tired of holding it so we tied it to one of our bags. I know...we're so tricky.

Day 6:

We drove home. The end.
BUT this trip was SO fabulous and much needed. It helped me realize that I can conquer my anxiety and that people can become fabulous friends in just a short amount of time. I sure had a great time with these lovely people.

Epic

Tuesday night I went with my friend Dallin to go see U2 at Rice Eccles. His brother Kyler was supposed to go with him last year but the concert was canceled last year due to the fact that Bono (the lead singer) broke his back and Kyler is now on his mission so he was unable to use his ticket so Dallin asked if I'd like to have it. Of course I said yes! 1-Dallin is so much fun to be around & 2-a U2 concert is well, EPIC
This stage was amazing! I was so ready for it to blast off. haha. but seriously it looks like a space ship that could have come from Thor or something. It was the most incredible stage i have ever
seen. And the screen was so cool because it could expand and then rise/lower for various songs. amazing.

Now I've been to a few concerts myself such as (OK-GO, Snow Patrol, Death Cab for Cutie (twice), One Republic (twice), etc) but this concert was INCREDIBLE! When we got there a
worker told us that they had to move our seats because our section was going to be used by the film people so we ended up getting better seats than we originally thought. Then the Fray open
for them and mmm that was fabulous as well. Thank you Dallin for such a wonderful date!
Here are some songs that they played: Elevation, Vertigo, Beautiful Day/Here Comes The Sun. (Ok I apologize for the random people that may be singing...its youtube, what can I say. haha gotta love it).

Mmmm...mmm...GOOD!

Today Roo & I went to Ekamai for lunch and to catch up a bit.

It was SO much fun to hang out with her!
We also saw my friend, Wilson, that works at Ekamai.
I met him on the good ol' 817 bus that takes me to school & he's
so fun to be around. It was nice to see him because I haven't seen him for a few weeks.

BUT...Ekamai is SO yummy and very affordable.
If you want to try out some wonderful Thai food then head to Ekamai.

Its mmm...mmm...GOOD!
I recommend their mango rice. yummy!

Monday-Friday (11-9 pm) & Saturday (12-9 pm)

336 West 300 South

SLC, Utah

So this old man with a fancy smoking pipe volunteered to take this picture

and the funny thing is that it took him 4(+) times to take it and

people that were sitting at adjacent tables to us, needless to say, were staring at us.

Bless his heart. What a great man & a great picture.

(minus the fact that my face is pastey white due to the sun)

Parker Snedaker's NEW puppy!

That's right, you read that right. Parker Snedaker's puppy named Teddy. My aunt Jana has been looking for a puppy for Parker for a little while and we decided to help out and look on the KSL Classifieds for a Cockapoo and we came upon this little guy. He was in Gunnison (just outside Manti) so my mom and I ventured down there to pick him up. He was born in February so he's still quite young and he's so adorable. We've had him at our house for about 4 days now and wowzha I think we've all forgotten how much energy puppies have and how much they LOVE to bite!I would have posted a picture of him when he's awake but truth be told when he's awake all your energy goes into keeping an eye on him and playing with him. He has quite the personality and Parker really lucked out because he hasn't gone the bathroom in our house, he doesn't bite our furniture, he falls asleep whenever he's tired (which tends to be every few hours) and he is SO cute! oh and its the cutest thing, when you hold him like a baby, he just lays there and you can tell that he's so perfectly content. He loves being held & loved.
However, one thing that he loves to do is splash in his water bowl. I don't know if he was taught that by the other puppies at his old house or what but its hilarious. Then sometimes if he's so hot, he'll just lay his face and his front paws in the water dish. haha. he's a keeper and I know he's going to LOVE Parker! Parker is coming down tonight with Aunt Jana so it'll be exciting to see how Teddy reacts. I'm sure they'll be best buds in no time.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...to a degree

THE GOOD:
Spring is finally here, I think. Utah's weather has been so crazy lately and I think the weather just can't make up its mind. It's hot then cold, sunny then rainy. I guess it must be spring haha. This is a picture of my neighbor's tree and I just love how it gets all green with beautiful white blossoms and then when its mixed in with the blue sky mmmm...its just gorgeous. So that's the good.

THE BAD & THE UGLY (TO A DEGREE):
This has got to be the messiest dance day activity ever recorded. I mean it looks fun but the after math is a little shocking and messy. For Spring Fling, Skyler's group went to a local park and had a paint fight and then due to the fact that the dance was going to have black lights, they wore their white shirts that they decorated. However...the paint always seems to by pass their shirts. I think Skyler has more paint on his face than his shirt haha. bless his heart. You can see the excitement in his face haha. Sure do love 'em. Can you believe he's going to graduate in about a month?! I surely can't!
